RIGHT TO BE INFORMED
To be given the facts necessary to make informed choices according to individual needs and to be protected against misleading advertisements and labels.
RIGHT TO SAFETY
The right to a reasonable quality of goods and services means that the consumer is protected against hazardous products and services, that are injurious to the health,and safety of the consumer in the use of such products and services
RIGHT TO CHOOSE
To select from a range of products and services of assured quality and competitive prices.
RIGHT TO BASIC NEEDS
Access to essential goods and services, and for the vulnerable and disadvantaged to be protected.
RIGHT TO BE HEARD
The economic interests of the consumer must be promoted when products are developed and also by the government in making policies that affect the consumer.
RIGHT TO PRIVACY & DATA PROTECTION
In this age of digitisation, the consumer's personal data is a valuable commodity that should be safeguarded from unauthorised access.
RIGHT TO CONSUMER EDUCATION
The right to acquire the knowledge needed to be an informed consumer,including education on the environmental,social,and economical consequences of consumer choices.
RIGHT TO REDRESS
The right to make complaints to the producers of goods and services, to receive fair settlement of just claims, and to be compensated for defective goods and unsatisfactory services. It also includes the right to resort to legal action on the claim.
